Woman with a Fashionable Look

When we think of 20th-century fashion icons, we think of Coco Chanel, Jackie O, Liz Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, and even Madonna in the 1980s.

But today there is a whole new set of fashionistas that are changing the landscape of fashion. From sophisticated to classic, to elegance, and everything in between, we bring you the trendsetters of the 21st century changing the fashion landscape.

1. Sarah Jessica Parker

Who didn’t love to watch “Sex in the City.” Don’t you still watch those reruns to see Carrie Bradshaw’s shoes and her perfectly put-together outfits when she struts down to meet the girls or grabs a drink with Big?

Sarah Jessica Parker’s fashion style has the ideal mix of elegance and quirkiness. From her sleek and sexy dresses to micro-mini skirts and those colorful high heels.

She even received a fashion award. It was presented from the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America for her fashion sense as reported in Glamour magazine.

2. Kate Middleton

As soon as the royal couple announced their engagement all eyes were on Kate Middletown. We saw endless fashion headlines and photography showing her classically elegant looks. And she displayed the perfect girl-next-door look.

From her down-to-earth blouses and jeans to her elegant wedding day dress, we can see how she sets the trends. She’s not the type of woman that needs to buy an outfit for every occasion. She has no problem wearing her favorites more than once.

3. Lady Gaga

For the girls who aren’t afraid of looking up to a fashion icon with a wild sense of style, they look up to the singer, Lady Gaga who always makes a statement.

She is the ultimate trendsetter. And you can’t imagine her following the crowd a single day in her life.

This not only goes for fashion and apparel, but the same holds true for her hairstyles and surprising entrances. Lady Gaga isn’t afraid to take a risk in the fashion department with her brave and bold outfits. That’s no secret.

4. Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift has a tastefully classic fashion style about her. She dresses with a romantic flair when it comes to her fashion taste. And we love those sparkles.

This country girl knows how to rock a variety of looks. And she isn’t afraid to look girly. You can see similar classic outfits on Sellingmatrix.

Her demure country flair shows through whether she’s wearing a sundress, a pair of cowboy boots and a flannel shirt, or a sundress. She loves fashion so much she created her clothing line.

5. The Olsen Twins

No fashion icon list of the 21st century would be complete without a mention of the Olsen Twins. They consider their look homeless chic and got some stares when they strolled down the street in this unique look while they attended NYU.

But although they worry baggy shawls, oversized tops, long skirts, and ripped up tights as streetwear, they also could do high-fashion. They know how to dazzle the red carpet as well.

Other brands have been known for trying to emulate the style of their own clothing line. They take a nod from the Olsen Twins.

6. “Gossip Girl” Stars

We can’t just point out one character in Gossip Girl because there are four 21st century fashion icons who rock the stage in this show.

You have Jenny for her rock-and-roll style dressed in black. Then there’s Blair who displays an elegant fashion sense with formal gowns and bows.

And we can’t forget Vanessa for her Boho-chic presence. They create a whole lot of drama on the show together. What they do have in common is their keen fashion sense.

7. Jennifer Lopez

Dripping in sex appeal, we have the music star and actress, Jennifer Lopez. She’s been one of the biggest fashion icons for a while you can’t deny.

From daring dresses to stunning evening gowns and a body that knows how to move, her beautiful and daring clothes and apparel always get noticed on stage and at award shows.

8. David Beckham

We can’t forget about the guys who rock style. David Beckham started the recent trend when men took an interest in how they dressed. A man could be stylish and athletic, too.

And he made an impression on the way everyday guys put their looks together. Beckham brought a certain sense of masculinity to the world of fashion that other men could look up to.

Whatever he wore on his body seemed to sell the next day. And he was also largely responsible for men taking an interest in their hairstyle.

9. Ryan Gosling

Ryan Gosling is considered one of the best-dressed men on the globe. He was able to heighten everyday work clothing, fitted suits, knitted sweaters, and other classic menswear attire in a way other men in this century couldn’t.

There’s a rumor–we won’t know if it’s true for sure–that he emulated his taste from Hollywood stars of the past for their style sense like Paul Newman. We’ll never be certain.
