Spring Wedding

A lot of people get married in the summer. The weather is warm, people are more likely to take time off work to make the wedding, and you have a wide variety of options for outdoor venues.

However, there are also some problems with summer weddings. Warms summer temperatures often come with surprise thunderstorms. Additionally, because it’s such a popular wedding season, it can be difficult to lock down venues, caterers, and entertainment.

Instead, consider a spring wedding. It’s a little less conventional, but you get the best of both worlds.

Not sure what to think? Keep reading for the top four reasons you should throw a wedding in spring.

1. Outdoor Venues Without the Heat

As noted above, one of the benefits of having a summer wedding is that you can plan an outdoor wedding and reception. However, aside from unexpected rain showers, summer temperatures can often skyrocket to more than 100 degrees. In most cases, the bride and groom must book a venue long before the temperature on the day of their wedding can be accurately predicted.

If the day turns out to be hotter than expected, everyone in the wedding party and all of your guests will be uncomfortable. A spring wedding will grant you access to outdoor venues without risking heat exhaustion, sunburns, and excessive sweating.

2. More Availability

We’ve already established that summer is the most popular wedding season. As such, it can be challenging to lock down all the services you require for your wedding date. This includes:

  • Venues
  • Catering
  • Entertainment
  • Seamstress/tailor
  • Guests
  • Honeymoon destinations
  • And more

If you get married a few months before the summer wedding season takes off, you’re more likely to lock down your top picks for all of these services.

3. Easy Food and Drink Options

When you plan a wedding, you must think about the experience you’re providing for all of your guests. This includes finding the best food options for the event. Winter weddings typically call for heavier meals and summer weddings call for light, cool foods.

However, a spring wedding leaves the doors wide open for catering. You won’t have to worry about cold foods spoiling quickly. You also won’t feel pressured into providing heavier meal options like ribs, mashed potatoes, steak, and other expensive foods.

4. Spring is Symbolic of New Beginnings

Finally, one of the best things about getting married in the spring is that the entire event and season share the same concept – new beginnings. As trees grow new leaves and flowers bloom, you can start a new journey in your life. In the same way that new plants much be nurtured by water and sunlight, your marriage must be nurtured by love and compassion.

The symbolic nature of getting hitched in spring also provides a gift idea for a wedding for all of your guests. It’s much easier to shop for a new couple when everything is bright, blooming, and promising.
