woman with wet hair

When it comes to your hair, no two days are exactly the same. Some hair days are great, while others are like a trainwreck you’d rather forget.

Unfortunately, you can’t count on every day turning out perfect. That’s why you need to be prepared to deal with wet hair.

This article takes a look at a few easy hairstyles to do yourself when you’ve had to walk in the rain, been swimming, or just didn’t have time for the hairdryer before leaving the house.

Keep reading for some great tips that will help you out in case of an emergency.

1. Low Twist With Pin Buns

This hairstyle for wet hair is great for when you’re in a hurry.

To achieve this style, first, comb your hair back and split it into 3 equal sections. Then twist the middle section downward, looping it around to form a bun at the nape of the neck, and pin in place.

Repeat with the right section, again securing with a bobby pin. And then repeated again with the left section and pin it level with the other two.

2. Fishtail Ponytail

For this style, you’ll need a hair bungee or a strong hair elastic.

Begin by gathering your hair high on the crown of your head. Smooth with a comb to remove any lumps.

Now smooth away any comb marks with your hand. Then secure the ponytail with the bungee and you’re all done!

3. Fishtail Bun

Again, you’ll need a bungee along with a small hair elastic and bobby pins.

Place your hair in a high ponytail, adding a fishtail braid. Next, stretch the braid until the ponytail is nice and tight. Curve the braid into a bun, tucking the ends so that they don’t poke out, and pin with bobby pins.

4. Sleek Low Bun

This is a chic style that’s also super easy.

First, comb your hair back and pin with into a low ponytail. Twist the ponytail and wrap to form a low bun. Next, tuck the end and pin in place, smooth away any bumps and use your hand to clean up whatever comb marks remain.

5. Loose Triple Bun

For the last wet style, split your hair into three sections. The top section needs to be across your head above the ears. Now split the bottom sections down the middle of your head and clip the top section out of the way.

Next, twist the bottom left section into a loose bun. Feel free to form a figure-8 if you like. Repeat with the bottom right section and pin in place.

Now unclip the top section and rake your fingers through to loosen it up. And finally, twist the upper section into a loose bun on top of the other two buns and pin in place.
