Person Getting a Tattoo

You’ve given in and decided to get a tattoo. What you’re going to get is another question entirely. You have no idea what would look good on you or what would be meaningful enough to get put on your body for all to see.

There are tons of interesting tattoo trends coming up in 2020 that you should take a look at before you step into a shop. Things like vibrant colors and tattoos of everyday objects are something to consider.

Those aren’t the only trends that are making a splash in the world of tattoos. Check out these other great design ideas.

1. Plenty of Color

The biggest tattoo trend that’s making its way into 2020 is color. Pastel colors in particular.

This is a huge contrast from 2019 where the big thing was black and grey. Don’t get us wrong, clean, dark lines will still be around but it’s pretty much always going to be accompanied by colors.

2. Everyday Objects

Many are electing to get tattoos of everyday objects such as a coffee cup or a spool of thread. To the people who see the tattoo, it will come across as pretty random. To the wearer, it holds special meaning be it an inside joke or something deeper.

3. Peekaboo Design

As tattoos are becoming more widely accepted, people are getting more visible areas tatted. That’s where the peekaboo design comes in.

It’s a simple tattoo placed on a unique area of the body. The idea is to bring attention to the body part. For example, a delicate flower tattoo stretched across the collarbone.

4. Minimalist Black Ink

The best tattoo shop can tell you that minimalist black ink has been a trend for a little while now and it’s not going away anytime soon. We’re talking simple, thin black lines that leave tons of space open to be filled in like a coloring book.

5. Blending Styles

Color isn’t going to stop at taking over minimalist designs. This bright future is being applied to old school American traditional styled tats.

This trend is less about adding color and more about blending styles. Consider trying out this interesting mix of vintage and contemporary design.

6. Grunge Tattoos

Grunge tattoos have been around for a long while and they’re going to continue to stick around. The only difference is that they are also going to be affected by the color movement.

7. Korean-Inspired Tattoos

Korean tattoos have inspired designs all over the world. There’s going to be a huge rise in Korean-style tats in 2020. Like with everything else, this tattoo trend will be filled with color and mixed with several other different styles.

Tattoo Trends You Should Be Looking Out For
