Career Change Visualized

There is no shortage of flashy job statistics thrown around like unemployment numbers being at 3.6%. But how many of those people that are working actually love their jobs?

According to some publications, not many.

If you’re not sure whether or not you need a career change, our suggestion is to watch out for these tell-tale signs to know if it’s time to pack your desk and head for greener pastures.

1. You Hate Getting up in The Morning

We all have mornings where we don’t want to get out of bed. If that’s the kind of morning you have every day though, it’s time to take notice.

Optimally, you’ll spend most mornings excited about the new challenges your career as a SAFe practioner or other kind of professional will send your way. When those moments are few and far between, you probably need a career change.

2. You Don’t Like Who You Work With

The people you work with should, for the most part, be people you can relate to. When you’re a cultural misfit amongst your peers, that may be because you’re in the wrong line of work.

3. What You’re Doing Doesn’t Align With Your Dreams

If you think back on what your original aspirations in life were, is what you’re doing now in alignment with those dreams? If not, are you bothered by that?

If you are, start looking for new opportunities.

4. You’re Unhappy With Your Compensation

People all across the country feel like they’re worth more than what they’re making. In cases where the discrepancy is large, your best move may be to pick up and look for a better gig.

5. Work/Life Balance Isn’t a Thing

Life is beautiful. Your job should support your enjoyment of it, not hamper it. When your career seems hell-bent on not letting you do the things that matter most, it’s time to find a more flexible means of making money.

6. You’re Underappreciated

There’s nothing worst than working your heart out only to never feel appreciated at the end of the day. Believe us when we say that somewhere out there, there’s an employer that will love you for your contributions.

You owe it to yourself to find them.

7. Envy Is a Common Fixture in Your Life

The more jealous you are of other people, the more dissatisfied you probably are with your career. If talking about how much you dislike others is a common fixture for you, consider shaking up your life rather than lamenting on someone else’s.
