Rumor has it that despite the dreary and dull weather that most of the United States is experiencing right now, spring might actually be on its way. Stores are already fully stocked with their swimsuit collections and Easter basket goodies, so warmer weather must be coming!

That means it’s time to break out the spring colors!

But just because Peter Cottontail is getting ready to hop down the bunny trail, that doesn’t mean that your spring wardrobe has to consist of strictly pastel colors plastered on plastic Easter eggs in every supermarket today. The fashion shows of 2019 are sporting colors all over the rainbow in every shade imaginable.

If you’re not sure what colors you want to add to your spring and summer setup in 2019, keep reading. We’re pulling out the best colors and showing you how to incorporate them into your wardrobe this year!

Burnt Orange

The first color we’re going to talk about spring colors this year is burnt orange. Richard Malone and Valentino showcased this dark shade of orange in their runways this year, making it one of the go-to colors for every fashionista’s spring collection.

While you might think about burnt orange as more of a fall color, times are changing and woman’s fashion is becoming more and more versatile. You can see options for an expanding line of women’s fashion here.

How to Wear It: Burnt orange would look great as an all over statement piece like on a dress. Don’t make this stand-out color your accent, make it your statement!

Mint Green

Mint green is best known for a small avalanche of popular wedding color schemes, but it’s for good reason. Mint green is a soft but crisp shade of green that gives your eyes a refreshing break after long months of cold. It’s not soft enough to qualify as a pastel, but it’s still bright while being easy on the eyes.

How to Wear It: Mint green makes a great statement color like in a color block sweater or a skirt. But it also makes a great accent piece when accompanied with your more traditional pastels. It also makes the perfect shade for a soft, flowy dress that is perfect for springtime!

Bright Coral

The traditional color is a rich color that works great in the summer. And while we encourage anyone to rock any shade of coral at any time of the year, this spring is going to be the perfect time for a bright, living coral.

It’s a color that is somewhere between pink and orange. It’s tropical and fun and will bring tasty drinks and exotic flowers to mind.

How to Wear It: If you can find a silk blouse or dress in this bright coral, it will give your whole look a pop and a glow that you just won’t be able to achieve with any other color. If coral is a little too bold for you, try carrying a handbag in this shade as a start.

Deep Red

This is another color that is typically associated with another season. But fall and winter are behind us (for now) and this deep, intense red isn’t going anywhere. It closely resembles burgundy, but it’s just a touch less dark. It makes the perfect combination when coupled with bright spring colors, but we like it best when it’s all by itself.

And because it’s not your run of the mill soft pastel spring color, your wardrobe is going to have a pop!

How to Wear It: If you’re going to wear this deep red color this spring, go big or go home. Jumpers and dresses are sure to steal attention and turn heads. Don’t be afraid to couple this with a bright heel and bag to offset the dark color if you want that pop of color.

Pale Yellow

Now we’re going to take a small turn into some of the more traditional spring colors, but we promise we’re going to give it a bit of a twist. Instead of the traditional pastel yellow that still resembles something of the sun, we’re taking it down a few notches still.

Super light, pastel yellow is a gorgeous, soft yellow that brings the light, flowy feeling of spring and summer to your wardrobe. It’s perfect for a daytime outfit and it’s just light enough that it will blend perfectly with other pastels.

How to Wear It: this pale yellow is all about flowy, long dresses and feminine blouses. Dainty shoes and small clutches would also look perfect in this soft, pastel shade of yellow.

Baby Blue

When you think spring, you probably think pink, purple, green, and yellow. But there’s a gorgeous color that is virtually untapped for a spring wardrobe: blue. In this instance, we’re talking about soft, baby blue.

Baby blue is such a soft shade that soothes the eyes. And while you might relate this shade of blue with bad 80’s prom dresses, those days are long gone.

How to Wear It: This soft shade of blue would look great on outerwear wear like a long trench coat. It would also turn heads on a flowy skirt or a mesh blouse.

Silver

Never underestimate the transformative power of a metallic shade, no matter the season. Silver is a strong color that evokes images of power, forward-thinking, and luxury. It’s a strong color that shouldn’t be overlooked this spring.

How to Wear It: This is another color that would work great as outerwear or accessories. But if you’re feeling brave, a fun cocktail dress in shiny silver would be the perfect getup for a spring party.
