Are you thinking about remodeling your closet? Did you know closet remodels account for 65% of closet construction? New closets account for the other 35%.

Closet remodels are meant to reorganize and repurpose your space. New closets, on the other hand, are solely for the purpose of giving you more space. Surprisingly, most people need the former rather than the later.

What about you?

If you said remodel, you’re in the right place. In the sections below, we detail three delectable modern closet remodels. Each will give you a more organized, more stylish fashion space. Read on when you’re ready to make your friends jealous.

#1 Closet Remodel

Whether you’re living in Brooklyn apartments or New South Wales project homes, your organization is defined by your closet. If it’s messy, so is your life. If it’s tidy, it reduces the clutter in the rest of your home.

As well as the clutter in your head.

We begin with the walk-in closet. The first thing you want to do is get rid of excess clothes. You heard us. If you haven’t used your shoes, skirts, or slacks in over 2 years, it’s time to give them to Goodwill.

Each space will have slightly different properties, but we recommend they all include the following:

  • Short shoe shelves
  • High closet rod
  • Overhead shelf
  • Mirror
  • Seat

With short shelves, you can fit multiple layers of shoes. High closet rods leave enough room for you to hang your power suits, slacks, or dresses. Overhead shelves give you space to hide hat boxes, memorabilia, and the like.

A mirror and a seat are essential for every modern woman. With them, you can try on your clothes and shoes and assess your outfit.

#2 Remodel

Reach-in closets are second on our list. They’re commonly found in hallways and bedrooms. They’re perfect for those of you with a grab-and-go lifestyle.

The attribute which best describes these closets is accessible. You should be able to reach not only your essential clothing but anything in the closet without fuss.

If the closet space is deep, then think of setting it up in a horseshoe design. Use closet rods on at least one of the sides. Use medium size shelves or closet rods on the other side as well.

In the middle of the closet, section it off into four quadrants. Fill one of the lower quadrants with short shelves for your shoes. Fill the other lower quadrant with a built-in dresser.

Above the shoes try another closet rod. In the last section, install medium sized shelves to store your bulkier sweaters, hat boxes, etc.

#3 Remodel

If you alone have two or three closets worth of clothes and shoes, it might be time to upgrade to a boutique closet. These closets are the kind that takes up an entire room. They’re meant to be both lived in and enjoyed.

Cover each wall in shelves, drawers, and closet rods. Include a full-length mirror on one wall. And don’t forget the double center island and matching bench. They tie the whole room together.
